Brisbane vs. Western Bulldogs (02/09)

Fri, 31/08/2012 - 14:35 | SportsIQ

Western Bulldogs +42          @$1.62            Stake 8

Neither team have much to play for here and despite the Lions handing the Bulldogs a 58 point loss earlier in the season, we expect this to be a closer contest. The Bulldogs have been woeful during the back half of the season, but their key metrics were up in last week’s  34 point loss against the Cats. If they can bring the same intensity they should be able to hold out a Lions outfit that has lacked offensive power of late.

Richmond vs Port Adelaide (02/09)

Fri, 31/08/2012 - 14:29 | SportsIQ

Port Adelaide +52                @$1.62            Stake 7

Despite coming off five straight defeats, the Power have only failed to cover this line once – against the Hawks. We believe the line has been overcooked, with a lot of public money streaming in for the Tigers after their big win over the Bombers last week. They have had a soft schedule in the past month, and in terms of power rankings, there is not a huge deal separating these teams. We have taken an adjusted line here, which should be plenty against a side with not a lot to play for.

Hawthorn vs. West Coast (31/08)

Fri, 31/08/2012 - 14:24 | SportsIQ

West Coast + 35          @$1.62            Stake 8

West Coast is playing for a top 4 spot, which is crucial for interstate clubs. I can't see it being a blow out either way and coming off a very comprehensive win against the Pies, 35 points is too good to give up.

West Coast have a top four spot to play for and despite the Hawks finding form, the Eagles are no mugs on the road. Coming off a 49 point win over Collingwood, West Coast are finding some momentum  themselves. Last time these two met, in round 4, West Coast won by 5 points in a very low scoring contest. The Eagles can match the Hawks around the stoppages and with a high rating defense, they are rarely blown away. Expect a close Hawks win.

Sabine Lisicki vs Sorana Cirstea (28/08)

Sun, 26/08/2012 - 18:21 | SportsIQ

Lisicki  @  $1.62   Stake 7

After a forgettable clay season, Lisicki found form on grass last month, beating Martic, Jovanovski, Stephens and Sharapova before losing to Kerber at the quarter finals at Wimbeldon. If she can continue that form on to the hard court season, she will be tough to beat.

Cirstea also notched up some impressive wins at Wimbledon, beating Parmentier and Na Li, before losing to Kirilenko.  Her form on hard court since, has not been as impressive. In Montreal, she was double bageled in the first round – losing 6-0 6-0 to Karatantcheva as a $125 favourite. We expect Lisicki to edge out her younger opponent in three sets

Gold Coast vs. GWS (11/08)

Thu, 09/08/2012 - 21:37 | SportsIQ

Gold Coast Suns          @$1.50         Stake 8

GWS have been hit with some key losses, with Callan Ward, Dean Brogan, Toby Greene, Taylor Adams, Jonathan Patton and Sam Frost all out, they are a severely depleted outfit. Gold Coast has shown signs of development this season and just have too much experience for GWS. Gary Ablett has been tearing it up recently and Harley Bennell has been giving the Suns some great run. With the match being at home and the Suns needing to win to try and keep them away from wooden spoon territory, we expect the Suns to get it done here.

Mariana Duque Marino vs Klara Kakopalova (19/07)

Thu, 19/07/2012 - 14:17 | SportsIQ

Zakopalova  (straight sets)   @  $1.75  Stake 7

Despite making her way through qualifying without dropping a set, it will likely end here for Duque Marino. None of her opponents were ranked inside the top 100. In fact, her first round opponent was ranked outside the top 400. Kakopalova holds a 2-1 H2H record over Duque-Marino. Their last meeting was at Madrid in 2010. But Zakopalova has improved a great deal in the last two years, while Duque-Marino has been stagnant.

Vera Zvonareva vs. Mona Barthel (25/06)

Mon, 25/06/2012 - 00:01 | SportsIQ

Vera Zvonareva        @$2.20         Stake 7

Mona Barthel is undoubtedly a player on the rise. She has a big game and hits some brutal. The problem is, she meets one of the best hitters on the WTA and a more consistent one that Barthel. Vera is the 12th ranked woman in the world and should not be an underdog here against a player who has yet to prove herself on a consistent basis.

Alberto Ramos vs. Roger Federer (25/06)

Sun, 24/06/2012 - 23:54 | SportsIQ

Match under 27.5 games      @$1.91           Stake 9

This year’s tournament is most likely going to be contested by Djokovic and Federer. I cannot see the King of Grass being troubled during the first week, especially by a clay-courter like Ramos. Ramos has never won an ATP match on grass. His one prior Wimbledon appearance was in 2010, when he lost to Joshua Goodall  6-3 6-4 in qualifying. Federer will not drop a set and we predict he will have no problem breaking the Spaniard’s serve on multiple occasions to clear this line.

Arantxa Rus vs. Misaki Doi (25/06)

Sun, 24/06/2012 - 23:25 | SportsIQ

Arantxa Rus (to win 1 set)     @$1.52           Stake 8

There's no question Rus is the better of these two players. H2H she leads 2-1 and their most recent meeting was at Osprey just a few months ago, where Rus won as a $1.67 favourite. There is not much that has happened since then to explain the shift in prices, but Rus finds herself as an underdog. We are taking her to win a set here, for some added security.

Benjamin Becker vs. James Blake (25/06)

Sun, 24/06/2012 - 23:14 | SportsIQ

James Blake (to win 1 set)          @$1.60              Stake 6

We do think Blake his past his prime, but cannot ignore his 4-0 head-to-head record against the German. He does not play a great deal of matches on grass, but did push Baghdatis to five sets here last year as a $4.00 underdog.  We expect Becker to scrape through, but without a fight from the American.
